EVREN OS installation on Hyper V in Windows

What will you need?

1. Evren bootable image file (.iso)

2. BIOS-level hardware virtualization support

3. Laptop/PC that you want to install on (We currently only support x86 architecture-based devices)

4. Internet Connection (Wi-Fi or Wired)


Step 1: How to enable Virtualization Technology on your computer

⚠️ Some computers may require a power-off and power-on restart after enabling virtualization. The CPU installed in your laptop model may not support Intel Virtual Technology if the option does not exist in the menu.

  1. Please boot your system to BIOS with the boot menu key at power on (depending on the company that created your version of BIOS, a menu may appear).
  2. Select the Configuration tab and look for Virtualization Technology in the BIOS.

  1. Once Enabled, save the changes with F10 and allow the system to restart.

Step 2: Enable Hyper-V on Windows 10/11

Once you have confirmed that your system is compatible, you can proceed to enable Hyper-V on your Windows 10/11 machine. Here's how:

  1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
  2. Type optionalfeatures and press Enter.
  3. Select Turn Windows features on or off in the left-hand pane in the Programs and Features window,
  4. Please scroll down to Hyper-V and check the box next to it in the Windows Features window.

  1. Click on OK and wait for the installation process to complete.
  2. Next, click Restart Now to reboot your computer once the installation is complete.

Step 3: Download the Evren ISO file

After enabling Hyper-V, you'll need to download the Evren OS image by following these steps:

  1. Download the ISO file by browsing the Evren Manager Portal.

Step 4: Create a Virtual Machine with Hyper-V Manager

  1. Open Hyper-V Manager by pressing the Window's key and typing "Hyper-V Manager" or finding Hyper-V Manager in your applications.

  1. Click Quick Create to bring up the New Virtual Machine Wizard in the Hyper-V Manager.

  1. Next, please click on Local installation source and click More options.

  1. Click Change installation source and select the Evren ISO file that you would like to install. Also, please untick the Windows Secure Boot box.

  1. Proceed to name the virtual machine and click Create Virtual Machine.
  2. Review the ‘Edit Settings’ content if necessary and click Connect.

  1. Click on Install evren 39 and proceed with the installation.

  1. You will see this Evren First Boot screen upon completion. Please click Create User and insert the respective details as required. Finally, please Accept Licenses and click Complete Setup.
